‘Toast to our Rising Stars’
Supported by the Freemasons Foundation and hosted by the Northern Club, Auckland
On Wednesday 20th August, we celebrated our young, rising opera stars at the annual Freemasons Foundation ‘Opera Dinner’ hosted by the Northern Club in Auckland. This beautiful event for Northern Club members celebrated the brilliance of young opera voices with a programme themed around one of opera’s greatest traditions: the toast!
Guests were treated to an evening of Mozart, Puccini, Verdi, Bizet, Charpentier and more – all culminating in the fabulous ‘Libiamo ne’ lieti calici from La Traviata.
Our rising stars for the evening charmed the audience and sung to great acclaim. Both Olivia and Edward are taking the next step in their journey towards a career in opera and we wish Olivia all the best as she heads to the UK this week to join Royal London College of Music and Edward as he heads to the US to the Curtis Institution in Philadelphia.
