A conductor, singer and organist, Nicholas Forbes is the Director of music at St. Matthew-in-the-City and organist of King’s College, Auckland.

He has lectured at the University of Auckland where he studied historic keyboard with James Tibbles and conducting with Dr Karen Grylls.

Previously he was Director of music at St Patrick’s Cathedral. Nicholas conducts Harbour Voices, GALS (Auckland’s Rainbow Choir) and is a singer and Associate Conductor with Voices New Zealand, the national chamber choir. In 2022 he is a Conducting Fellow with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. Nicholas was the Chorus Director for NZ Opera’s production of Rigoletto and for Le comte Ory in Christchurch.
