Less than one day to go, and the New Zealand Opera School will tomorrow be performing at the Wanganui Royal Opera House, the 26th Great Opera Moments production.
The final concert is a wonderful opportunity to show case the students’ vocal capabilities and improvements made throughout the school, in a semi-full operatic production. However what most people don’t realise is that the schools main focus is tutoring, coaching and establishing specific vocal techniques catered to each students vocal abilities. Students don’t spend time rehearsing for this event until mid-way through the second week of the school and as such Jacqueline Coats (Director) as well as Kararina Walker (Assistant Director), get less than a week to pull this production together.
What is achieved is nothing less than a miracle and a huge achievement. Whanganui, and out of towners, sponsors and guests look forward to this great performance, Saturday 18th January, at 7:30pm.
